Renewable Energy Solutions
The new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) has come as a direct response to issues surrounding global warming, climate change and energy efficiency, which will have a fundamental impact on the way in which buildings are sold, rented and documented on construction in England and Wales.
As a result of the directive, Energy Performance Certificates will become an essential part of managing property portfolios. Initially confined to production on construction sale or let, EPCs will show A to G ratings similar to those found on electrical appliances, where A is highly energy efficient and a G rating has massive room for improvement.
To ensure an efficient rating many occupiers and property managers are investigating the benefits and pay back periods relating to renewable energy products and we are able to offer advice and guidance, including options around grants for funding, as well as the expertise to deliver installations through our directly employed workforce.
Our specialist operatives are accredited to undertake energy surveys, assessments and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in accordance with The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) Regulations 2007
Renewable energy solutions include:
Solar photovoltaic panels
Save electric energy by converting the sunlight into electricity. By using photovoltaic panels with a battery, inverter and controller you can start using your own generated electricity for domestic units.
Thermal panels
Turn heat radiated by the sun into hot water. The liquid that circulates through these thermal solar panels is heated by sunlight. This then passes through a coil in the water tank which in turn heats the water stored in the tank.
Rainwater harvesting
A Rainwater Harvester captures and stores large quantities of rainwater for you to use in toilets, washing machines and in the garden. Systems are easy and quick to install. Builders are finding that having a rainwater harvester can help with planning permission and can also make houses more marketable.
Ground, air and water heat pumps
Ground source heat pumps use a buried ground loop which transfers heat from the ground into a building to provide space heating and, in some cases, to pre-heat domestic hot water. As well as ground source heat pumps, air source and water source heat pumps are also available.
