Reactive & Planned Maintenance
Property maintenance isn't a science but delivering it well is an art. At the heart of any good service is the quality of the operatives undertaking the tasks. That's why we rely on the direct-delivery model and recruit the best qualified people in the business.
Because we started life as a property maintenance contractor we really do understand the process, end-to-end, of delivering timely cost-efficient services. Years of experience have taught us and enabled us to develop systems that ensure works are pro-actively managed and tracked throughout the process.
Our operational processes and IT platforms have been honed over 20 years to facilitate the task of managing large numbers of jobs over multiple sites and across varying trades. By working intelligently we minimise travel, maximise productivity and ensure the minimum of disruption to our customers and their businesses.
Directly Employed Service Model
The delivery of effective reactive and planned property maintenance via the utilisation of directly-employed tradespersons to deliver all key trades has been the foundation of our contracting services since inception.
FSG directly employ over 200 tradespersons, including:
- Electricians
- Plumbers

- Heating and Ventilation Engineers
- Refrigeration Engineers
Because we are experts in the field of emergency maintenance, Facilities Services Group trades people are genuinely available 24/7 to deal with your maintenance emergencies.
Centralised Management Function
Tasks are logged and managed centrally on our bespoke job tracking systems, providing exceptional visibility within our business, and to our clients via web-based customer portals.
Local Service Delivery
Engineers and operatives, supported by regional managers, operate typically within a 30 mile radius of their home base. Whilst we manage central functions such as job logging and health and safety processes centrally, we strongly believe in local delivery and all the benefits this brings with it.
Communication
We never underestimate the importance of regular communication with our clients. Without doubt the single biggest area for complaint when we speak to new customers is the lack of, and quality of communication they have received in the past: 'They never call,' or, It's no use having a web platform if there is unreliable or no information on the status of a job on it!'
At FSG all our operatives utilise palm held mobile PDA devices that capture genuine, real-time information on attendance and completion of tasks and updates our systems. This process improves the quality and efficiency of the services we deliver; however, the most important element is the experienced, knowledgeable staff at our offices who, empowered with this information, manage the tasks to completion. At FSG we are not afraid to pick up the phone to deliver news (good or bad).
Fit for Purpose
At FSG when you request a plumber he will be NVQ or City & Guilds qualified with a minimum of 1 year's experience in the field of providing maintenance. Likewise if you require electrical services work undertaken, you can be confident the FSG electrician we deploy will be qualified and work in compliance with NICEIC regulations.
